The Shanghai Auto Show is a landmark event on the automotive calendar, with marque’s from across the globe convening to showcase their latest evolutions, and this year, Maserati hosted its global premiere of the Grecale Folgore, the brand’s first electric SUV.
With the Shanghai Auto Show a celebration of the latest cutting edge and revolutionary automotive technology, this was the perfect occasion for Maserati to unveil its latest electric offering, as it becomes the first luxury Italian brand to produce 100% electric vehicles.
The Grecale Folgore maintains the beautiful design elements that have made Maserati so famous, while also adding a 105kWh battery and 800Nm of torque to provide truly majestic driving performance.
If that wasn’t enough, the Grecale Folgore was presented alongside prestigious company. The iconic and timeless Maserati GranTurismo was also introduced to the Asian market for the very first time and had heads turning throughout the show. The coupé was presented in both its internal combustion engine and electric powertrain iteration, the GranTurismo Folgore.
Folgore is the name of Maserati’s boundary-pushing electric range, representing innovation, luxury and a bold vision that blends Maserati’s incomparable style with a bold future. With the Trident committing to produce electric versions of all its models by 2025, before moving to produce only full-electric vehicles by 2030, the Shanghai Auto Show display signified the dawn of a new era.
A true celebration of the future, Folgore represents a new beginning for one of Italy’s most recognisable marques. With the Shanghai Auto Show being a global platform for innovation and progress, it seemed only fitting that this is where the Grecale Folgore was unveiled to the world.
