On 20th September, Lamborghini Squadra Corse—the motorsport department of Automobili Lamborghini—announced a ground-breaking new partnership with renowned Swiss watchmaker Roger Dubuis.
News of the new partnership was released in conjunction with an announcement surrounding the highly anticipated Huracán Super Trofeo EVO, the extensively redeveloped version of the three-year-old Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo.
Designed by Lamborghini Centro Stile, the Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO features new aerodynamics, mechanics, and electronics, in addition to a bold new Titan Grey base colour (specifically chosen to celebrate the new partnership between Lamborghini Squadra Corse and Roger Dubuis).
As two famed luxury brands known the world-over for their obsession with excellence and attention to detail, the relationship between Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini is seen by many as a natural fit.
The excitement surrounding the partnership was most aptly surmised by Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini, who said “We are proud to work with a prestigious brand such as Roger Dubuis; one which shares our values of ongoing innovation and product uniqueness, while always respecting heritage.”
This collaboration has already seen the visionary automotive engineers of Lamborghini sit side-by-side with the meticulous watchmaking craftsman of Roger Dubuis to create a magnetic new timepiece:
The Excalibur Aventador S
To properly blend the blistering elegance of Sant’Agata and the precision of Geneva inside the Excalibur Aventador S, designers had to source high-quality, high-tech materials that could deliver top-tier performance, including C‑SMC carbon (the same composite used in the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO).
But the Excalibur Aventador S is just the first phase of this luxurious alliance, as Roger Dubuis will also act as one of the main sponsors of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in 2018.
