Aston Martin Vantage GT3 – Launching extreme pleasure at Geneva 2015

The news is out and the excitement, palpable; Aston Martin is to launch a road version of the Vantage GT3 at Geneva 2015.
The V12 Vantage GT3 race car is an Aston Martin with a big reputation in the global GT series, including the Nürburgring 24 and Le Mans. They claim that the Vantage GT3 road version will be the most extreme Vantage to date and used the term “truly hard-core” to define the power offered by their latest model.
Consummate professionals at providing just enough pre-launch information to get pulses racing, the new Vantage GT3 is certainly one to become excited about. Designed by Chief Creative Officer, Marek Reichman and hand-built at Aston Martin’s Gaydon HQ, this Vantage will be strictly limited to 100 sports cars with delivery from the second half of 2015.

The current V12 Vantage S uses a 565bhp 5.9-litre V12 powering the rear wheels giving it a top speed is 205mph. However, there is talk of a ‘modest’ power hike to 600bhp combined with a 100kg weight reduction making this a Vantage at its zenith. The power-to-weight ratio increases from 339bhp per tonne at present, to 383bhp per tonne, which would place the new Aston on a par with the Ferrari 458. This additional power could be sufficient to knock a couple of tenths off the current Vantage’s 0-60mph time of 3.7sec. Although there is no mention of this, if they have added the launch control system which is already available on the Vanquish, the time could become eye-watering.
