One of the most unique and highly anticipated motor racing events of the year, the 24 Hours of Spa excites and stimulates both on and off track. At this year’s race, Maserati pulled back the covers of its all-new GT competitor, the Maserati GT2.
An intricate and meticulous blend of performance and technology, the Maserati GT2 has been designed and tested to mark the return of the legendary brand to GT competition, in which the Trident dominated between 2005-2010 with the legendary MC12.
Blending the legacy of the famed MC12 with the potential and sporting nature of the MC20 supercar, the GT2 signals a bold new motorsport approach for the Trident, with its sights firmly set on the top step of the podium. At the heart of the GT2 lies an enhanced Nettuno engine, capable of delivering a supreme 621bhp which promises to enthral fans at tracks across Europe.
The heritage of Maserati’s motor racing success is evident throughout the GT2, paying homage to the Trident’s illustrious history of propelling both private teams and drivers to both race victories and championship titles.
Utilising the extensive and broad expertise of the Maserati Innovation Lab, the Centro Stile Maserati and the technological excellence of the Maserati dynamic simulator, the GT2 is the collective result of the marque’s finest minds and most skilled hands.
The GT2’s quest for silverware will begin in the final stages of this year’s Fanatec GT2 European Series, before participating in the entire season in 2024. Maserati’s return to the racetrack was spearheaded by its debut in Formula E this year, as the marque rekindled its unyielding racing and competitive passion.
