Mate Rimac will lead the new company as CEO of Rimac Group and of Bugatti Rimac – both Bugatti and Rimac will continue as separate respective brands, retaining existing production facilities and distribution channels. Bugatti Rimac represents the company that will develop the future of both Bugatti and Rimac vehicles, by joining resources and expertise in research and development, production and other areas.
As part of the deal, the newly-formed Rimac Group will be the major shareholder in Bugatti Rimac, with a 55% stake. Mate Rimac will retain his original shareholding in Rimac Group at 37%, with Porsche at 24%, Hyundai Motor Group doing the same at 12% and other investors at 27%.
In the new developments, Rimac splits into two businesses: Rimac Automobili will focus on the production of hypercars, while Rimac Technology develops components for OEMs. Both will now fall under the broader Rimac Group. Both elements of the business work in perfect harmony, with developments in Rimac Automobili for the most advanced electric hypercars in the world flowing very naturally into the work undertaken at Rimac Technology.
Equally, this very deliberate division of the businesses gives each one a renewed focus. Dedicated teams will be able to accelerate the production of Rimac’s all-electric Nevera and future hypercar developments, while the Rimac Technology team look to solely develop and deliver the very best electrified components to OEMs all over the world.
